Hello All,
I havn't posted on these forums for quite some time but thought that some of you may still be interested in this...
Since OllyDbg has yet to be released open-source, I started looking for alternatives which provide the complete code so that there is little chance of the project dying.
A very promising looking project is radare (http://radare.org) and although it is purely console based, supports many useful features including patching.
I am currently the maintainer of it for the FreeBSD operating system (http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/cvsweb.cgi/po...el/radare2 )
I have used it to successfully remove the online activation crap from the Motif BXPro and although it takes a little getting used to, it works quite nicely.
It also supports Windows, although I have only tried it on FreeBSD and RedHat EL5.
So, give it a go and see if you like it. It is open-source so is likely to always be available to you.
Picture (I will post a better one soon):-
